Youth Ministry

The youth ministry at Northwest has grown over the last year. What started out as one youth has grown to about 20! The youth group has renamed their selves New Life Youth and has been involved in many exciting events over the last month. We have stated a new bible series on Thursday Nights and have weekly trips to serve and worship in the community around Tampa Bay. We have worked with different ministry partners such as the St. Vincent De Paul Society in their thrift store located on 2nd Avenue North and 34th Street in St. Petersburg. We have also worked with the Beth El Ministry putting together food bags for the people in the community that depends on Beth El for different resources like clothing, food, water, work and help in school. Although we work hard to help the community that we are in we also have a fun doing it. As a reward for the efforts that the youth put forward in helping Tampa Bay we went to an event in Tampa called Winter Jam. Winter Jam is hosted by the International Bible Society and Christian radio stations like Sprit FM and the Joy FM. This past month has been eventful and we are looking forward to another packed month. Bible Study

Bible Study is one of the most important things for Christians to do with their faith, that being said the youth have been given a chance to have 3 bible studies a week. One on Thursday Nights, one Saturday, and the last one on Sunday morning for Sunday School. We focus on navigating the bible and memorizing the booking in order. There are some incentives to know them like free movie tickets or a prize give-away. We also offer incentives for Honor Roll (All A's and B's) and for Deans List (All A's). This has help some of the youth without a reason to get better grades, to work a little harder for better grades. Also tutoring is available on Thursdays from 5:00pm-6:00pm for students who need some extra help.
